As a Trainee Surveyor, you’ll receive comprehensive in-house training and attend external courses, all while working alongside experienced professionals on diverse projects. From conducting land surveys to using cutting-edge technology like laser scanners and GPS equipment, you’ll gain hands-on experience in real-world environments.

What to expect

  • Within 12 months: Understand the basic principles of surveying, strengthening your knowledge and learning a variety of equipment whilst undertaking basic survey practices.
  • Year 1: Progress into survey school to gain a Level 3 Qualification in Geospatial Surveying.
  • Year 2: Complete survey school and undertake comprehensive surveying in multiple disciplines.

TRAINING PLAN

Obtain a CSCS card, 2 x exams to be passed initially
A CSCS card is a Construction Skills Certification Scheme card used in the construction industry, that proves a worker has the training, qualifications, and health & safety knowledge needed to work safely on a construction site. Most construction sites in the UK require workers to have a CSCS card as part of their site-entry rules.
The Survey School / TSA Surveying Course
Six block course, each 2 weeks long, spread over two years. The course covers a full spectrum of surveying skills, from measurement and mathematical fundamentals to advanced techniques in GNSS surveying, photogrammetry, measured building surveys, setting out, 3D data processing, and survey management. It offers practical training, not just classroom theory, but hands on work with real surveying instruments and real world tasks. Gain the ProQual Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying, a widely recognised qualification that’s respected across the UK surveying and construction industry.
