Project Overview

The goal of the Middlesbrough Old Town Hall Repair & Renovation Project was to restore this iconic structure while ensuring it meets modern safety and functionality standards. Our team was excited to take on the challenge of surveying the building, including its remarkable clock tower, which brings a splash of culture and character to the town.

Survey Methodology:

To capture the intricate details of the Old Town Hall, we utilised a 3D laser scanning technique with the Trimble X7. This advanced technology allowed us to create a highly accurate point cloud model of the building, serving as a solid foundation for renovation plans.

01 • 3D Laser Scanning: Using the Trimble X7, we gathered detailed spatial information about the Old Town Hall, capturing everything from its beautiful architectural features to the specific elements of the clock tower.

02 • Revit/BIM Modelling: With the data from our laser scanning, we built a clear and concise Revit/BIM model. This model is essential for planning and visualisation, helping everyone involved understand the building and the renovation process better.

In-House Execution

We’re proud to say that all surveying and modelling were completed in-house, which allows us to maintain clear communication and ensure top-notch quality throughout the project. Our team followed Level of Development (LOD) 400 standard, highlighting the intricate details in the roof and internal areas of the building. This attention to detail is crucial for effective planning and execution.
