The Atlantic Grappler Completes Solo Row

"Be Authentic, Be Vulnerable"

What an absolutely incredible feat of endurance!!!

On 12th December Mike Bates began his 3000 mile solo row across the Atlantic Ocean. On Friday Mike completed his 46 day row, arriving with great applause in Antigua.

Tri-Tech Surveys and Site Surveying are proud to have been able to sponsor Mikes boat, the Atlantic Grappler. Mike had an aim to raise £100,000 to benefit the hospital unit which saved his son’s life 10 years ago. Born prematurely, Mike’s son Gabriel contracted meningitis and was cared for by staff on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Leeds Children’s Hospital during his first few months.

Although Mike has smashed the £100,000 target, we urge people to read his story and sponsor what has been an incredible feat of endurance.

Mike, it's impossible to imagine what you have endured through both your training and the 46 days at sea. It is an incredible achievement which will inspire in so many people and make such a difference to the unit at the LGI. You have 'Embraced the Grind'. Well done Mike!!
