Tri-Tech Surveys 2025 Roundup

Reliable Survey Data Delivered Through Experience and Innovation

2025 has been another standout year for Tri-Tech, reinforcing our reputation as a trusted provider of accurate, innovative surveying solutions across the UK. Over the past year, our specialist teams successfully delivered more than 2,400 surveying projects, supporting developments that ranged from complex infrastructure and transport schemes to heritage assets, utilities, and large-scale industrial sites.

Operating extensively across the North East of England, including Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees and the wider region, as well as nationally significant sites across the UK, Tri-Tech continues to provide dependable survey data that enables confident planning, construction, and asset management decisions.

Built on experience and driven by innovation, our approach in 2025 combined advanced technology with skilled professionals to ensure accuracy, safety, and efficiency on every project.

Delivering Comprehensive Surveying Services Across the UK

Topographical surveying formed a substantial part of our workload throughout 2025, with over 950 topographical surveys completed across infrastructure, highways, regeneration, and development projects. These surveys provided essential ground and feature data for schemes such as active transport routes, urban improvements, and complex brownfield sites, including projects in Stockton-on-Tees and across the North East where detailed topographical and contextual information was critical to successful design and delivery.

Our site engineering and setting out services also played a key role on live construction sites throughout the year. With more than 550 site engineering and setting out projects delivered, Tri-Tech supported contractors on major infrastructure works, aviation schemes, and commercial developments, ensuring structures were set out accurately and built to exacting standards. This hands-on site support was fundamental to maintaining programme certainty and construction quality.

Utility detection and mapping remained a vital service area in 2025, particularly on infrastructure and transport-led schemes. Our teams completed 480 utility mapping surveys, helping clients identify underground services, manage risk, and avoid costly delays. A notable example includes utility mapping and topographical surveying for cycling infrastructure projects in Stockton, where safety, coordination, and data clarity were essential in a busy urban environment.

Tri-Tech’s commitment to innovation was especially evident through the continued growth of our UAV aerial mapping services. During 2025, we delivered 275 UAV and drone surveys, supporting projects in quarrying, infrastructure, aviation, and large-scale land assessments. Drone technology enabled safer access to challenging environments, improved data accuracy, and faster project turnaround times, transforming how clients visualise and manage their sites.

Demand for laser scanning and measured building surveys also remained strong, with 110 projects completed using high-definition 3D laser scanning. These surveys supported complex refurbishment and heritage schemes, including the laser scanning of the historic King Edward Bridge in Newcastle, where precise digital capture was essential for inspection, analysis, and long-term asset management.

Our expertise in specialist environments was further demonstrated through hydrographic and river surveys, with 50 surveys delivered in 2025. These projects supported infrastructure inspections, environmental assessments, and water-adjacent developments, providing accurate below-surface and channel data in challenging conditions.

Surveying Major Infrastructure and Regeneration Projects

Throughout 2025, Tri-Tech supported projects of regional and national significance. Our survey data underpinned the £17 million rehabilitation of Newcastle International Airport, as well as runway improvement schemes and aviation infrastructure works where precision, compliance, and safety were paramount. We also delivered advanced inspection and modelling services for complex underground assets, such as the Lambton Staithes tunnels, using 3D inspection models to support informed decision-making.

In urban environments, Tri-Tech played a key role in regeneration and heritage projects, including surveying support for the repair and renovation of Middlesbrough Old Town Hall, where sensitive data capture was essential to preserving historic fabric while enabling modern restoration works.
